A loop walk from the car park up to the church, then follow the footpath behind the church and back toward the car park.
A loop walk from the car park up to the church, then follow the footpath behind the church and go up into the woods. Follow the path through a rewilding field, all the way to Finchdean, where you can stop off at The George for a drink or a bite to eat. Coming back you can follow the path through our farm towards Oxleys Copse, then follow the path down the hill facing the church and enjoying the views of the valley.
A loop walk from the car park up to the church, then go left behind the church and cross the road, follow the footpath straight all the way to the gravel bridleway, turn left which will then bring you out on the road. Go over the railway bridge, then enter the down over a style. Follow the footpath straight up the hill and this will then bring into the back of Chalton church. Coming back, behind the church take the right hand fork of the footpath, this will take you to the very top of the hill and you can enjoy the views of the valley. Follow the footpath all the way over the top of the hill until you come to Oxleys Copse then go down the hill facing the church.
A loop walk from the car park up to the church, the follow the footpath behind the church and follow along due east until a right hand turn up the hill into the woods. Follow the footpath through the woods and along the track until you reach Horsley Farm, where you turn right through a narrow gravel track, which then opens out along a field edge. Follow through the woods all the way to South Holt Farm, and once you’ve gone through the farm yard, turn right past some cottages. The footpath then heads back into the woods, follow the path down the hill and you come back out a few hundred yards from the church.
A loop walk from the car park up to the church, then go left behind the church and cross the road, follow the footpath straight all the way to the gravel bridleway, then turn right. Follow this path until you get to an informal crossroads. Turn right and follow the path through two open fields. Then cross the road and head up the hill onto the woods. At the top of the hill in the woods is a footpath junction, take the right path down hill through the trees. You come out onto a track, turn left then after a hundred yards turn right down the hill. The follow the path due west and you come back out behind the church.
A loop walk from the car park onto the farm, follow the bridleway up the hill and enjoy the views of the Isle of Wight at our highest point. Then drop back down the hill to Wick Farm. Cross the road and work your way uphill through Wick Hanger. Follow the road around the edge of the hanger, then re enter on the south side. Follow the path down through the hanger until you cross the road. Follow the path up to Oxleys Copse, then head back down the hill with a lovely view of the church.
The walking times above are based on an average walking speed of 3mph.
Please bear in mind that the church and the farm are in a hilly area and all the walks, apart from the short 20 minute walk, require one or multiple significant hills to be walked.
All of the walks require appropriate footwear and are not suitable for flip flops or sandals.
